i think the simplest explanation would be for me to have one less reason to hate myself haha. i’ve gotten to know some really amazing people through tumblr and i’m so happy for that. i also feel as if i’ve been “let in on” the minds/thoughts of people who i’d never otherwise know, whether through how different i feel from them socially or how unique and kind of rare a person they are, and that insight has been invaluable to me. but lately i’ve been spending too much time on here and nothing good comes out of it, it just makes me feel worse and i’ve come to define my sense of self too closely to the image presented of myself on here. i also feel like it makes me “desensitized” (for lack of a better word) against art, photography, literature, music and anything else creative or beautiful.. if i’m so used to just scrolling past these things, i don’t appreciate them in the way i should, and they just become meaningless. on the contrary it can be really enjoyable and actually beneficial for me if i use the site for just a short period of time (say ten minutes per day a couple times a week), so i think i might do that. i think the main idea is to shift my use of tumblr from being a meaningless, menile activity to pass the time, to an activity that gives me some kind of inspiration or knowledge. you didn’t want such a long explanation i’m certain, but i’ve thought about it a lot since my sudden decision this morning.

had this moment on the bus today looking out the window thinkin about boys and listening to a dumb sad song nd wanting to sob almost and then i suddenly thought whoah elle take a look at yoself right now from a realistic/ objective point of view nd tihnk about that for a minute. i did and i was quite horrified. cant fight true love tho
